WWE Bad Blood Predictions

I’m getting ready to board a plane to Atlanta to attend WWE Bad Blood at the State Farm Arena. This marks the first non-WrestleMania, SummerSlam, or Royal Rumble WWE PLE I’ve attended since Survivor Series 2017, and it’ll also be my first overnight stay in Atlanta since February 29th, 2020 (Great Scott!).

I’m especially excited for this show for two reasons:

1. The Hell in a Cell match (which was a big reason I decided to make the trip).

2. The tag team match between The Bloodline and OTC Roman Reigns, along with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

I have a good feeling about this one!

Here are my predictions for the show:

WWE Bad Blood Predictions: A Night Full of Surprises?

Regarding the card, there’s a rumor swirling that the Hell in a Cell match is actually going to open the show. At first, that might seem counterintuitive, but I believe there’s a major reason tied to the main event that will be revealed later in the night.

Given how the match has been set up—with Drew McIntyre picking up the victory at SummerSlam and CM Punk doing the J-O-B—I imagine we’ll see Punk, the triumphant babyface, battle back from a potentially bloody encounter with the Scottish Psychopath. Expect CM Punk to have his hand raised in victory to kick off the night. I’m predicting this match will go 30-plus minutes, with all the makings of an all-time classic that we’ll be talking about for years to come.

WWE Women’s World Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

With Dominik Mysterio suspended in a shark cage, it seems logical that Rhea Ripley would have a better chance at taking the title. But I don’t think that’s how it’s going to play out. There’s still more story to tell here. I think Rhea will face another obstacle, prolonging this rivalry for a bit longer before she finally gets the payoff she’s after. Normally, a stipulation match like this would benefit the babyface, but this one feels different. I’m predicting Liv Morgan retains.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley

This one is a bit of a toss-up. After Nia Jax won against Bayley at SummerSlam, I don’t think it’s the right time to take the title off her. I’m expecting Jax to successfully defend her title, though I still believe the one to dethrone her will be Tiffany Stratton when she eventually cashes in her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor

With two heels retaining their titles earlier in the night, I think it’s time for some shine on the babyfaces. I’m predicting Damian Priest will destroy Finn Balor, reaffirming his status as one of the top stars in the business today. This match has the potential to steal the show, and WWE has done a great job building storylines that add weight to these clashes.

The Bloodline vs. Roman Reigns & WWE Champion Cody Rhodes

On paper, you’d think the babyfaces would easily win, especially with this being the first time we’re seeing Roman and Cody team up. I’m sure they’ll play on the classic story of two former rivals struggling to get along against the well-oiled machine of The Bloodline.

Hot take alert: There are reports that the final boss himself, The People’s Champion, Dwayne Johnson, is in Georgia. Considering this is Roman Reigns’ return and with The Bloodline headlining the main event (instead of the Hell in a Cell match), I wouldn’t be surprised if The Rock makes an appearance. Could this set up a WrestleMania showdown? We’ll have to wait and see.

Those are my thoughts heading into WWE Bad Blood. Let me know what you think, and don’t forget to check back for the post-show breakdown right here on the site. Stay tuned!
